A Modern Take on the Smart Clock
The AI Smart Clock was built as a full-stack product, combining custom touchscreen hardware with a modular software architecture designed for reliability and scalability. The front end runs a lightweight, responsive UI optimized for an always-on display, while the clock itself acts as a thin client—handling interaction, rendering, and local controls without being burdened by heavy processing.
On the back end, the system integrates with external APIs for real-time data and intelligence, including weather services, Google Calendar for event syncing, Spotify for music playback, and AI voice and language models for natural interaction. A centralized server handles authentication, API orchestration, and AI requests, allowing the clock to remain fast and responsive while enabling future expansion across additional smart devices.
